Leeds sees start of joint ticketing

Leeds sees start of joint ticketing Leeds sees start of joint ticketing
Joint ticketing has been introduced on the A65 Kirkstall Road corridor in Leeds. Holders of weekly tickets issued by First, Centrebus and Transdev can now travel on any of the three operators’ buses.

Richard Lewis, Leeds city council executive member for development, says: “I welcome this ticketing initiative by bus operators in Leeds to allow customers to have a choice of buses on the A65 corridor. The A65 Quality Bus Scheme is undoubtedly one of the most significant transport improvements in Leeds in recent years. It provides a massive boost to our transport system, vastly improving bus journey times and reducing congestion around the city centre.”

Interavailability of tickets is one of the aims of the West Yorkshire PTE’s proposed quality contracts.
