The Wright Group has announced a new divisional structure for its business. The newly-created Wrightbus International will exploit what the company describes as “significant growth opportunities” in key overseas markets. At home Wrightbus will work on UK product development and manufacturing.

“We’ve been doing a lot of work behind the scenes over the last 18 months or so to finalise our strategy and planning in detail the means by which we can achieve our significant ambitions,” explains group managing director Mark Nodder.

“We are now part of a highly-competitive and increasingly globalised bus business and we must be even more focused and unrelenting in our efforts to deliver and support high-quality products, with the lowest cost of ownership.

“Working closely with a number of key partners, we have already achieved recent significant successes – domestically with StreetLite and New Bus for London and internationally on various product platforms in Singapore, Hong Kong and the USA. We have also led the way in the development of hybrid technology both in the UK and beyond.”

“However, whilst our home market remains the bedrock of our business in the near term, capitalising further on international opportunities - with a complete and highly cost-competitive product range - will be the key to unlocking long term success. That is where Wright Group’s future lies.”
